The
liver is a key organ in your body's self-defense system. It changes,
or detoxifies, many harmful substances into forms that your body
can safely eliminate. In today's world of processed foods and pollution,
toxic substances exist almost everywhere from the food and water
you put into your body to the air you breathe. Your body even produces
toxins as it processes and converts substances for elimination.
When the liver is not in peak health it cannot detoxify substances
as rapidly or as completely as it should which results in more toxic
substances circulating in the body. These toxins can be stored in
fatty body tissue and in the brain and central nervous system cell.
Stored toxins may be slowly released into the blood, especially during
weight loss contributing to many chronic illnesses. The symptoms
and signals of toxicity are many. Some of them are as follows; diarrhea,
belching/gas, heartburn, mood swings, depression, fatigue, apathy,
lethargy, hyperactivity, blurred vision, dark circles under eyes,
headaches, faintness, insomnia, shortness of breath, difficulty
breathing, poor memory, confusion, poor concentration, slurred speech,
gagging, frequent need to clear throat, stuffy nose, hay fever,
excessive mucus, acne, body odor, rashes, dry skin, hair loss, excessive
weight, compulsive eating, binge eating/drinking, pain in joints,
arthritis, stiffness, or chest pain. Many people in America today
do suffer to some extent from toxicity. However, nutritional support
is available. With a proper cleansing program the body can clear
itself of unhealthful toxins and restore the liver so that it may
function properly. A cleansing program provides simple, yet specific
dietary guidelines in combination with complete and nutritionally
balanced supplemental support.
WHAT
IS A HEALING CRISIS? When fasting a person need not go through a healing crisis if the
livers detoxification pathways are working up to par. In fact,
a healing crisis is not desirable. Usually oxidative damage
is happening during a so called healing crisis. Begin a detoxification
program today and follow the instructions closely and faithfully
so you can be on your way to vibrant health.
HOW
OFTEN SHOULD I DO LIVER DETOXIFICATION ?
Because we are continually bombarded to numerous toxic substances
on a daily basis you should do liver detoxification at the change
of every season (every 3 month) to prevent the build-up of potentially
carcinogenic substances in our bodies.

A few great books I was just introduced to:
I.) "What Your Doctor Doesn't Know About Nutritional Medicine
May Be Killing You" by Ray D. Strand, M.D.
Quotes from the aforementioned book: "Physicians are disease-
and drug-oriented" -
"Why Aren't More Doctors Responding to Nutrition As I Have?"
"In this book, I present only clinical trial study results
which is the most effective evidence available. Most of the medical
studies I offer here are not from abstract or alternative journals.
Instead, I have painstakingly researched mainstream, credible medical
journals that the medical community greatly respects, such as the
New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of the American Medical
Association, British Lancet, and many others."
"Another reason doctors haven't accepted the nutritional supplement
idea as good preventive medicine is that most practicing physicians
don't fully understand the cause of degenerative diseases. Doctors
simply wait until patients develop one of these diseases and then
begin to treat it."
Presuppositions Put to the Test
"To be honest, I knew next to nothing about nutrition or nutritional
supplementation. In medical school I had not received any significant
instruction on the subject. I was not alone. Only approximately
6 percent of the graduating physicians in the United States have
any training in nutrition. Medical students may take elective courses
on the topic, but few actually do. As I mentioned in the introduction,
the education of most physicians is disease-oriented with heavy
emphasis on pharmaceuticals - we learn about drugs and why and when
to use them."
II.) "The New Detox Diet" by Elson M. Haas, M.D.
Quote: "...I would never have thought or believed that the
idea of cleansing and detoxification would become so important in
my life and career." It makes perfect sense given the toxic
times in which we live where we are exposed to chemicals in our
basic elements of water, air, and food, with some extra food pollutants
thrown in the mix." "Nowadays the topic of detoxification
is a crucial one and most important to the health of many."
DETOX QUESTIONNAIRE

4.) Do you have food or environmental allergies, such as hay fever,
rashes or asthma?
5.) Do you suffer from chronic sinus headaches or nasal congestion?
6.) Do you experience constipation, heartburn or indigestion?
7.) Do you often find yourself tired and fatigued? Do you want to

The great news is that there are options to help you detoxify (keep
your body clean) on a regular basis. There are specific foods and/or
juices in addition to nutritional supplements you can take for detoxification.
If you're a busy person who does not want to take the extra time
to prepare 5-6 mini meals per day, you can take supplements that
can accomplish the same end result.
