why antibiotics just make the situation worse for women. Yeast

Over time, the damage from bladder infections can develop into
interstitial cystitis—and then pain becomes really awful.

recognizes that bladder problems
in women are often the result of

Here's
another example—heart disease, the #1 killer of women.
There
are 70 years of research into men's heart disease. But only in
the last 5 years have we really come to grips with the fact that
heart disease in women is so different, it's practically...a
different disease entirely!
Just
look at some of the critical differences:
Heart
disease in men has a lot to do with plaque buildup. But in women
it has everything to do with hormone levels after 50.
The stress test, the gold-standard for detecting heart disease for
men, doesn't work as well for women.
Heart protection. Men should take an aspirin a day. But aspirin
blocks a woman's production of hormones known as prostaglandins.
And prostaglandins are an important part of stress management for
women! I believe women do better on enzymes such as bromelain and
papain. (More on bromelain in a moment).
Heart attacks are quite often "silent" in women, meaning
there are no physical symptoms. At the most they get an ache, not
the crushing pain common in men. That's why men get rapid treatment
in the E.R., while women are often given a prescription for "gastrointestinal
distress"—and told to go home and get rest!!
Supplements. Deficiencies in vital heart nutrients like folic acid,
vitamin B6, and coenzyme Q10 are significantly more common in women.
Cholesterol levels in men are an important
risk factor. But 75% of women with
heart problems have low cholesterol!
If you do have high cholesterol, the
old way to treat it is by using with
statin drugs. But we know that statin
drugs rob you of the precious coenzyme
Q10 women especially need to protect
their hearts. You need to know about
a new alternative to statins is policosanol,
a natural derivative of rice bran.
Let's look more closely at one heart disease risk factor—high
blood pressure.
Old
Way: Blood pressure is commonly treated with diuretic drugs.
But the side effects of blood pressure medicines such as diuretics
are among the most disturbing I've seen. Used on their own, these

patients. Worse yet, used in combination with other drugs (like
the statin drugs I just mentioned), the side effects become so
bad that still more drugs have to be added to the daily cocktail...
just to make life bearable.

Cure: Instead, I want you to dramatically
increase your daily intake of potassium.
There are now studies proving that
potassium may be as effective as
blood pressure medication, and, when
taken correctly, has none of the
terrible side effects. In one study,
the group taking potassium also had
fewer strokes.
The

Women
are omega-3 deficient. I believe the problem is now at epidemic
levels. Omega-3 oils cannot be made by your body, so you have
to get them from food or supplements. Lack of omega-3 has been
linked to high-cholesterol, heart disease, rheumatoid arthritis,
breast cancer, asthma, diabetes, insulin resistance, menstrual
cramps, psoriasis, eczema and stroke! Telltale signs of omega-3
deficiency: cracks in your heel, flaky skin, dry hair, split
or brittle nails or bumpy skin on the back of your arms.
Why
are women omega-3 deficient? Omega-3 is intentionally removed
from oils we buy so that they have a long shelf life. In addition,
many oils today are hydrogenated to further "stabilize" them,
turning healthy oil into trans fatty oils that are linked to
heart disease.
A
diet low in omega-3 leaves us feeling hungry again after 2 or
3 hours, instead of 5 or 8. So these oils also help keep us slim.
Wise Woman
Cure: You can get omega-3's from fish
or from fish oils, but one type of
oil is so rich in omega-3's, a tablespoon
a day is ample. This is what I recommend
for you. The first thing you'll notice
is how great your hair looks. Then
you'll notice what a great mood you're
in-and how cramps and joint pain
have simply disappeared.

Women with high amounts of estrogen in their bloodstream have high
risks of breast cancer. Your first line of defense against cancer
is your liver, which grabs as much excess estrogen as it can out
of your blood and gets rid of it. But your liver depends on glucarate
acids to do the job. Glucarate makes sure your liver does the job—preliminary
studies suggest between a 70% and 87% suppression of cancer cells.
All
women can boost glucarate simply by eating apples, apricots,
oranges, lemons, and cherries. I can't think of a tastier way
to stay cancer-free!

you are at high risk of breast cancer, you can also boost your
glucarate levels by taking it as a supplement (I recommend a

How
to Tame Estrogen
As
estrogen breaks down in your body,
it can become either a cancer-causing
compound (called 16-alpha-hydroxyestrone)
or a cancer-blocking compound (called
2-hydroxyestrone).
There
is a test called the Estrogen Metabolism Risk Assessment that determines
if you are at risk for cancer by not breaking down these bad estrogens.
Once tested, there are products that can help your body break down
these bad estrogens.
Food
wise there is alway the "cruciferous
connection": the
nutrients in cruciferous vegetables
such as broccoli and cauliflower block
the production of cancer-causing estrogens.
Better yet, they may stop breast cancer
cells from spreading and cause them
to die!
Better than Mammograms
Every
time you have a mammogram, you expose
your breasts to radiation-one of the
leading causes of cancer.
Worse
yet, the squeezing and bruising your breasts get is so rough,
dormant cancer cells can rupture and become activated.
But
worst of all is the fact that mammograms are so unreliable, they
are practically worthless. One recent study found that annual
mammograms were no more effective than standard self-exams in
saving lives!
Wise Woman
Way: if you haven't heard about breast
thermography, it's no surprise—but
it's time you did. It's been around
for 30 years. A thermogram does not
emit radiation or painfully compress
your breasts. It simply photographs
the tiny temperature changes coming
from the breast. Where there's cancer—even
at a very early stage—the photograph
shows "hot spots" where
cancer is becoming active.
This

The

Doctors
too often tell women not to worry about
cervical cancer—a
Pap smear will catch problems early.
Don't
believe it. The test is so unreliable, 40% of cervical smears
can receive opposite readings! So, please, don't just rely on
early detection to ward off cervical cancer.

cures. Here are some more examples
of simple cures that work for women,
every time… Why
calcium pills aren't the answer for
increasing bone density: Because calcium
pills interfere with magnesium absorption,
and magnesium neutralizes estrogen,
taking calcium pills can make you estrogen-dominant!
What's more, lack of magnesium can
lead to angina pectoris, blood clots,
and irritability.
If
you lower your calcium intake and increase your magnesium, you'll
do a better job of increasing your bone density! Also include Strontium
in your diet. It helps build bone.
On
antibiotics? Women should always take this: Next time your doctor
writes you a prescription for antibiotics be sure to supplement
it with bromelain—the enzymes extracted from the stem of
the pineapple. Bromelain enhances the effectiveness of antibiotics
in every situation studied, and protects you from most of the
side-effects.
Most
multivitamins won't cut it: During periods of high stress a woman's
body needs more calcium, magnesium, vitamin C, B-1, B-12, and
B-5. In one study, 1,200 mg of B-5 were "burned up" in
a single day of severe anxiety. That's 24 times what you can
get in a standard "grocery-store"
multivitamin!
A
vitamin B deficiency caused by stress impairs your liver's ability
to deactivate estrogen. PMS, painful breasts, and heavy menstrual
bleeding are just some of the resulting symptoms.
Niacin
is the best way to deal with B-deficiency.
A
better cure for PMS. Many doctors will tell you that PMS is due
to a deficiency of the hormone progesterone, and put you on a
synthetic version. Because the side-effects of these drugs are
so bad, the next thing you know you're on antidepressants—because
of them!
But
PMS is not due to simple progesterone deficiency, according to
modern research. PMS is more effectively handled by increasing
your essential fatty acids (EFAs) with borage seed oil or grapeseed
extract. These EFAs trigger your body to produce progesterone
naturally and spontaneously—no drugs required.
You
aren't fatigued—you are magnesium depleted. "Nervous
tension was relieved 89% of the time when magnesium nitrate was
given one week premenstrually, and for the first 2 days of menstruation.
Breast tenderness, headaches, weight gain were relieved."
Stress
makes you lose magnesium! When you are low on magnesium you can't
produce prostaglandins, which promotes relaxation.
The
last allergy solution you'll ever need. Seasonal allergies are
an inflammatory reaction triggered by over-acidity. Restore your
body's alkalinity and the allergic reaction may vanish. Combine
one teaspoon of baking soda with a cup of spring water and 1000
mg of bromelain. Unlike allergy drugs, this remedy won't leave
you feeling groggy.
More
protein = less bone. High protein diets, according to a recent
study, double a woman's loss of calcium.
To
deal with excess acidity triggered by protein, your body has
to "borrow"
alkaline minerals from your bone-bank. That makes high protein
diets a bad deal for women.
A
half-teaspoon of sodium and one-quarter teaspoon potassium bicarbonate
in a glass of water, one hour before eating, alkalinizes your
body so you can deal with a high protein meal without robbing
your bone-bank.
Use
a kidney bean to give yourself the best night's sleep of your
life! Tape a kidney bean to the inside of your right wrist, three
finger widths below the crease of your wrist.
Now
try to stay awake!
You
